In addition to conventional
surveying systems, G. J. Berding Surveying has acquired the next generation of equipment
available to the surveying profession with the purchase of a Trimble 4400 and 4700 real
time kinematic GPS (Global Positioning System).
The GPS system allows for the
collection of data at millimeter accuracy without the need for line-of-sight between
points on the ground. Precision geodetic equipment enables the computation staff to handle
virtually any control project. Combining Global Positioning System technology with
conventional methods, they create an efficient approach to many surveying and mapping
needs.
Computations survey drawings and
plans are prepared by our technical support staff utilizing six CADD stations. AutoCad
2002, Softdesk products and C&G Survey are the software programs most regularly used
to reduce survey data and prepare finished drawings.
The firm has completed extensive
projects involving right-of-way acquisition by the Ohio Department of Transportation. This
past experience and the completion of mandated technical training has allowed the firm to
become pre qualified for ODOT and KDOT projects.
3D Laser Scanning and Modeling
services were introduced in July of 2001. Utilizing the CYRAX Laser Scanning System
millimeter accuracy scans can be completed capturing a multitude of x,y &
z coordinate values for modeling and plan preparation. |

and Resolution |
|
Courthouse and records research
provides a basis for resolving property line locations as well as an understanding of the
historical basis or evolution of property line locations. A field survey crew locates existing field
monumentation and lines of occupation; data is downloaded for resolution with the
researched and recorded data. |
|
| Topographic
Base Maps |
|
To facilitate the design of new
improvements or the expansion of an existing facility, our survey crews field locate
features and elevations required for the preparation of a base map. Data is coded as it is
observed and then stored in our field computers. The information is downloaded and layered
by code. A base map is prepared to the scale and layering specifications of the end user. |
